Plan on 1.5 to 2 hours for Initial consult with acupuncture. Follow-ups approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. Functional Wellness consults 45–75 minutes. Follow-ups: 20–30 minutes.

Please:

1. Be sure to have eaten something within 2–3 hours of appointment.
2. Wear loose clothing or bring shorts as we will need access to all limbs. Gowns and coverings are available as well.
3. No fragrance or scented lotions.
4. Best not to plan any vigorous exercise or activity after treatment.

After the needles are inserted, I add infrared diffuse heat to the abdomen area to strengthen the treatment, unless you prefer otherwise. Low light and quiet music for relaxation helps to calm the nervous system, or silence if you prefer. You may bring your own music with ear buds as well. It takes approximately 20 minutes to further calm the sympathetic nervous system, so the parasympathetic nervous system can do its work and deeper healing may begin. I normally leave needles in for 30–35 minutes — sometimes longer, or less if you prefer.

To begin treatment it's most effective to book 4–6 visits, 2–3 days apart. Acupuncture re-trains your natural healing capacity. If too much time passes between visits, we may lose the progress from the prior visit. The more frequent the treatments, the sooner you recover and restore.
